The nearby township of Amberley has excellent restaurants and an 18 hole country
golf course adjacent to Amberley Beach. From Amberley it is a five-minute drive
to the Waipara Valley with its profusion of vineyards that produce the renowned range
of Waipara wines.
Awen Lodge is the ideal base from which to explore the Alpine Pacific Triangle
and its well-known attractions of the hot pools at Hanmer Springs and the
whale watching and swimming with dolphins at Kaikoura.
